The #JPM16 Naughty or Nice List
Updated each day through January 11, 2016
It's nearing that time of year again when the Super Bowl of healthcare investing takes place in San Francisco at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference (January 11-14 for 2016). For those institutional investors able to secure a golden ticket to attend, nothing quite beats it. While that is great for them, it often puts everyone else at a disadvantage.
Last year was the start of a movement to make JPM more transparent and fair by encouraging companies to webcast their breakout room Q&A sessions. Breakout rooms take place after a company's main presentation, and this is where a lot of the good information is discussed. However, these highly-relevant sessions had almost never been webcast in the past. That's not fair to those on the outside, so many brought it up with the companies directly last year.
Thanks to the awareness movement, which was kindly amplified by Adam Feuerstein at TheStreet.com here and Meg Tirrell at CNBC here, over 50 companies ultimately chose to webcast their breakout room in 2015 (most for the first time ever). This is important because it put the webcast issue on many people's radar for the first time, but also keep in mind that over 300 companies present at the conference.
While 2015 was a great start, we want the numbers for 2016 to be even better. As companies announce their upcoming participation at this year's conference, I am keeping track below of which ones do (nice) and do not (naughty) elect to webcast their breakout room Q&A. I will update the list as companies clarify their intention, so please let me know of any changes as you are aware of them.
Here is the current list of companies confirmed to be naughty or nice at this year's J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference:
